I have a new bike…

I was hoping to be watching the final episode of “Game of Thrones” tonight, but teenage love life eastenders stuff is happening in the front room so I have instead dragged myself, the laptop and a hot steaming cup of tea out into the garden under the pretence of getting some coding done.

However half an hour later and a second cup of tea later I have done little but trawl through the days Facebook news feed (Chuckling at the Beyoncelogues particularly), So I decided to waste some time more constructively with a quick post here before finally either a) going in and watching GoT, or b) Opening up the editor and get some game written.

On Saturday just gone, an otherwise quiet and uneventful shift at work was brightened up no end with me building and finally taking home my very own Boardman Hybrid Comp 🙂

It’s a whole different world away from my trusty Kamikaze, a steel full suspension mountain bike which I bought back in around 1998.  This is fast and uncomfortable, really really fast, and really really uncomfortable.  I’m sure in time I will become more “hardened” to the razor like saddle (or give in and fit a wider and softer one, lol).

My first real outing on it was a quick blat round Lodge lake with Les and Dillon, which was sooo much fun I can’t tell you.  Covered around 4 miles and was surprisingly not as out of breath as I was expecting to be on my return home.

I went out on it this evening as well, another 3 and a half miles or so, the first few hundred metres were absolute hell on my poor ol’ backside.

I hope I have as much fun with this one as I did with the last.

Live long, and prosper 🙂

The best laid plans…

Hello world,

Today was going to be a day of much productivity. I was planning on spending the best part of the day working on my entry to The Game Creators competition, and the 1st hour seemed to be going ok.

However due to a problem with the new AGK beta not working with the current AGK player app on Android, I can’t actually test the bit I am coding properly. I need to see the virtual keyboard working :/ Not that I’m not happy that TGC are developing AGK at a fantastic rate, just that sometimes sleepy developers over look things when uploading new versions at the end of a long nights work.

I think I may have to pop out to Tesco’s and get myself some kind of microwavable snackette, and then get on and do some work rather than procrastinating over my blog.

Peace x

News in brief…

Hello world,

I feel like it’s been a while since I last posted, since then, very little has changed here on the site. I have been unable as yet to re-import all the old PRoFsWoRLD blog entries to the new blog, nor have I been able to get any of the other content up and available as yet. Rest assured though, it is coming soon 🙂

I have however managed to regain ownership of the domain profsworld.com 🙂

My inability to update this site has been mostly caused by me spending most of my spare minutes writing another competition entry for the current TGC “Create an educational maths game” compo (No news as yet, but when there is it’ll appear on http://www.warriorsofthecucumber.com); and the rest of my time working on websites, or tending to house and family.

Anyway, it’s nearly 1am, I should prolly be tucked up in bed trying to sleep, not blogging.

G’nite world.

A required/needed step to self improvement…

For many many years, I have been unable to spell the word “necessary”. Worse than that, I have known that I have been unable to spell it but have done nothing about it.

I mean in this modern age of technology I have become reliant on the red squiggly line of a spell checker to point out my mistakes, suggest words I may have meant or even just correct the mistake without even notifying me. On those rare occasions where I have been writing with pen and paper, and out of reach of google, I have simply used words I can spell in its place (e.g required or needed)

So a couple of days ago I made a determined effort to look it up and commit it to memory. Which I did, and it really wasn’t so hard to do.

New Year, new start, new site…

The eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed that this site hasn’t been running so well the last few weeks. This was caused partly by me losing the rights to the Profsworld.com domain due to an unfortunate series of events; and partly by me being far to busy with other things to devote the proper amount of attention a project like this deserves.

I’m currently adding the finishing touches to the theme and site layout, and once thats finished I will re-add all the old content; and some shiney new things as well 🙂

Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

Peace x
